Venture Capital Investment Analyst Climate Tech

As a VC Investment Analyst in Climate Tech you will be working for a leading venture capital fund focused on investing in innovative technologies and sustainable solutions. To strengthen our team, we are looking for a technically trained individual to fulfil the role of investment analyst

About the role

As an investment analyst, you play a crucial role in identifying and evaluating promising investment opportunities within the technology sector. You will work closely with our experienced team of investment managers and have the opportunity to be involved in the entire investment process, from due diligence to supporting portfolio companies.

• You will contribute to the growth of promising, innovative ventures in Brabant with innovative technologies for the energy transition and the future of food or a sustainable economy;

• As the first point of contact for your sector team, you point entrepreneurs in the right direction;

• You identify and map promising innovations, (business) opportunities and risks and conduct thorough research. This includes tech and market analyses, business studies, valuations, due diligence and assessment of investment applications;

• An analyst plays an important role in the entire investment process: from writing investment proposals, building financial models to making joint investment decisions;

• You cooperate with Venture Developers and the Investment Managers in deal sourcing, management and exits of participations and portfolio companies;

• You attend (international) events and are in contact with other VCs and investors for the purpose of knowledge building and maintaining the network to support current and potential portfolio companies;

• Finally, as an analyst, you will support the team across the board.

About the sector

We are active in the Climate Tech sector, an area focused on climate-neutral energy solutions and sustainable food systems. This sector is currently accelerating, with promising technologies on the verge of large-scale implementation. Some of our investments in this sector include:

• Protix produces insects as a sustainable source of protein for animal feed and human consumption. Their products, such as ProteinX® and LipidX®, offer an environmentally friendly alternative to traditional protein sources.

• Carbyon develops direct air capture (DAC) technologies to remove CO2 from the atmosphere, contributing to the reduction of the global carbon footprint.

• Leydenjar is working on the development of advanced battery technologies that increase energy density and extend battery life, which is essential for the transition to sustainable energy.

• PeelPioneers converts citrus waste into valuable products such as essential oils and animal feed, reducing waste and creating new circular economies.

• FiberFoods focuses on the production of plant-based proteins as a sustainable alternative to animal proteins, contributing to a more sustainable food system.

What we are looking for

• Technical background: You have a university degree in a technical discipline (e.g., Mechanical Engineering, BioTech, or similar).

• Analytical skills: You are capable of analyzing and interpreting complex technical data and don’t shy away from developing the same skill in finance (or already have this competence).

• Communication skills: You can clearly and convincingly present your findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Full English professional proficiency is required, Dutch comes recommended.

• Proactive and entrepreneurial: You have a hands-on mentality and are able to work independently and take initiatives.
